Rookie120 0 #1 October 13, 2008 So it's time to get some new equipment so I am lookin at the Sony HC9. I found a couple on Ebay. I have the links to the 2 items below. Is there any reason why these would not be a good idea or should I just go to B&H and get them there? To me it looks like a good deal but I have never electronics from ebay so I am a little hesitant. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-HDR-HC9-1080i-HDV-Hi-Def-Camcorder-2-PRO-LENS-KIT_W0QQitemZ400001641409QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item400001641409&_trkparms=72%3A1416%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-HDR-HC9-1080i-HDV-Camcorder-Pro-Mega-Kit_W0QQitemZ110292377985QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item110292377985&_trkparms=72%3A1416%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-HDR-HC9-1080i-HDV-Camcorder-Bonus-Kit-NEW_W0QQitemZ120309194544QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item120309194544&_trkparms=72%3A1416%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! horny955 0 #2 October 16, 2008 Hi Im in the uk and was in a similar position whether to buy camcorders using ebay. I eventually bought and was very happy with the deal. Like any thing its a matter of doing your homework on the product, know how much you would expect to pay and check out the feedback the seller has been given in the past. Ps i used the classified on this site and got ripped off by the guy but with ebay you will get help if you have problems.
Rookie120 0 #3 October 16, 2008 Thanks for the reply. The camera is only about $100 cheaper than what I could get and a camera store like B&H but this package on ebay has the extra lens, tripods, cases and stuff like that. Just wondering if this is a case of "to good to be true" kinda thing. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!

Dokeman 0 #6 October 17, 2008 I dont think the hc9 is al that great for jumping. I would get an HC5 instead. And half the cost as well. I personally would not get the bundle. Mostly cheap junk. I would spend my money on a quality wide angle lens instead of the cheapo that's included with the kit.

PharmerPhil 0 #8 October 18, 2008 Quote...I hate going to the city. bhphoto.com baby. I'll bet you spend less in shipping than you'll spend on gas, parking and sales tax. Plus, when I order from them using standard UPS to Massachusetts, I usually get my stuff the next day. Two at the worst. Hell, you're even closer. Either way, be aware that they are currently closed through the 22nd.
