boomslang 0 #1 November 12, 2008 I have been searching the web (including the DZ.com search engine - where I found a few threads about wide angle lenses but none that I found answered my question) for a very nice wide angle lens for the Sony HDR-TG1 camcorder with the 30mm thread on the Cookie Blackbox. I would like to get the best picture quality from my camcorder so I need a high grade lens, but I do not know where to look. I currently own a Liquid 3 wide angle lens with a filter from Cookie Composites, and a TG1 with a Cookie Blackbox - mounted on a Cookie MXV with a cutaway system. I am looking for something that will produce no vignetting. I am not very knowledgeable on this subject so any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!Cats land on their feet. bomb420 1 #4 November 13, 2008 You can use a raynox and use a step down ring and zoom in a tad. I always forget the zooming part, but it works and that is what I've been using.HYPOXIC

Remove the filter kit that will stop the vignetting. I had a Liquid 3 lens with my TG1/TG3 setup and found that the lens vignettes with the UV filter kit so I took it off. The only problem is that the Liquid 3 lens picks up the side of the helmet. I've since sold my Liquid 3 lens because I think it looks pretty bad when you have enough helmet in shot for it to be classed as porn... and you cant really sell the footage to a customer. I'm now using a liquid 5 with no filter. Works for me."When I left school I couldn't even spell skydiver. Now I are one!"
