igoswoop 0 #1 November 20, 2008 I'm going to switch to my D80 for my primary skydiving SLR body. The only immediate concern that jumps out at me is the remote shutter release that Nikon offers has a straight, male plug that is almost 3/4" long. If anyone has any information where to aquire this type of end with a 90 dgree bend instead of the straight connector, I'd appreciate it. Thank you
Icon134 0 #2 November 20, 2008 it appears as though there are manufacturers that make a switch with a 90 deg bend. I found one after about a 5 minute search at B&H... http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/439327-REG/Dot_Line_DL_1484_Remote_Release.htmlLivin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife... jimmytavino 16 #3 November 20, 2008 thanks for that link... that's a good find...the plug end is what has been desired for a while. glad to see it is now available... but we need it with a tongue switch, or else a female jack,, ( in place of the stock "button" ) into which a stereo pin mouth switch can be plugged...in order to save, 'creative splicing'... jmy
PhreeZone 20 #4 November 21, 2008 Look at the ebay version of these remotes, the Canon's have a 2.5 mm jack already on them that the tongue switches can plug into with no splicing involved.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

dragon2 2 #6 November 21, 2008 Haven't seen any "fake" D90 remotes yet, on ebay or anywhere else. Will probably not take long though for some to show up ciel bleu, Saskia

dragon2 2 #8 November 21, 2008 Quoteno no no when i said 90..... i meant 90 Degree angle. plug-in Not D90... LOL well all fakes of the Nikon usb-type remotes I've found so far are MC-1 copies, so all will work for both D70s and D80. ciel bleu, Saskia
