cookie flat lock on an optic

Recommended Posts

I'm mounting a top mount quick release on my helmet. so i can switch back and forth btween a still and a 2nd video cam. and now matter where I position the flat lock on the flat spot on top of the optic. it looks like I'm gonna be drilling into the very edge of the flat spot. surely someone else has done this. if so how did it work for ya? any input would be most helpfull.
i have on occasion been accused of pulling low . My response. Naw I wasn't low I'm just such a big guy I look closer than I really am .

Attached is a photo of a FlatLock we just mounted on an Optik here in the shop a few weeks ago. It's a tight fit for sure, but no problems screwing into a flat spot.

I also use the flatlock on my optic and have had no issues. I was worried when we went to mount it that it wouldn't sit right but it bolted down without any problems.

thanks for the reply. yeah I have it mounted now. it just looked like it was too big. there is a slight bit of over hang but those edges are rounded. I could only get 3 out of the 4 washers on the mounting bolts. but that because of a bump in the carbon fiber layup inside of the helmet. but I think 3 out of the 4 will be fine I was able to get the nut tight on the 4th bolt just couldn't use the washer
