Tuna-Salad 0 #1 December 7, 2008 I have a canon powershot s5 and a small flycam that record in avi format. When I load these into Sony Vegas I get audio but no picture. I do not have this problem with windows movie maker though. What is odd is that when using fraps on my pc it records in avi format and I have no issues. Can anyone shed any light as to why some avi's work and some don't? I figured an mpeg was an mpeg, an avi was an avi... DSE 5 #2 December 7, 2008 Your Canon records an MJPEG movie into either a Quicktime or avi container. You need an MJPEG decoder. Morgan makes the best freebie. Vegas Pro 8 comes with this decoder as part of the package. On the VASST website FAQ/Knowledgebase, there are links to the three most popular decoders.
