der-bene 0 #1 December 20, 2008 hey @ all i just got my new camera and now i want to use it in freefall. i need a 0.3 wideangle for a 40.5 diameter camera. i looked and xdreamoptics because a lot of camera skydiver i know jump this wideangle and are really satisfied with it. the point is: this wideangle isnt available in 40.5 -.- so does anybody know another good wideangle which is available in 40.5 (and is good for jumping it) or would you prefer to use an adapter ring for a 37 diameter xdreamoptics 0.3 wideangle?? thanks for your help Blue Skies
PhreeZone 20 #2 December 20, 2008 You need to get a wide angle lens with threads larger then the 40.5 or else you'll have a black ring on the outside of all your videos. You can use step up adapter rings (40.5-42mm) but not step down rings (40.5-37) to get the video to look right. 40.5 is an odd size and you are going to have a hard time finding any thin wide angle lens to fit that one.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
