make sure you using a firewire,
click on the capture tab
make sure the camcorder is set to vcr and turned on
click on set up tab, then click
capture source
then click on the video drop down and select
your dv device

if that wont work go to your camcorders web site and see if you can get the soft ware drivers
and download them

if you have windows you might also have windows movie maker, if so will wmm recognize your camcorder if it will you have the drivers installed

There should be no drivers for any specific camera if it is DV, HDV, or Hi8 w/Firewire.

Be sure your 1394 network is disabled.
Be sure you're running the latest drivers for your firewire card. If your Firewire card/MOBO uses a VIA chipset, you might never get it to work with Pinnacle.
Pinnacle is known for being very problematic; view their forums (or even search here) and you'll find many people have issues w/Pinnacle products.
