Roy49 0 #1 January 20, 2009 I believe I have read most of the posts concerning the Sony CX-12, but have not really been able to come to a proper conclusion. The CX-12 can take unlimited pics while recording. I believe this to be correct, but can we take unlimited pics in freefall or is the time needed to capture the pics to slow to use the CX-12 as a stills cam. Especially if I want to record HD, will I be better off just recording the video and then taking frame grabs, even though this is a lengthier process? Thanks, R
DSE 5 #2 January 20, 2009 Imger is too slow, and the glass isn't anythign to write home about. We're still stuck in the world of camera for stills, and camcorder for video. You can get decent web-images from the CX, but nothing more.
skydiverton2 0 #3 January 20, 2009 Using the last method gives you more flexibility in choosing the web-images. (Although they are 2mpixel images) You can use them rather well for aplications like here on the left (cropped image from a HC5)Using your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!

I've tried to do the same with the HC5 (using the Hypoxic controller to capture stills while recording HD) and the lens (Raynox) just isn't that great for stills. It might be adequate for tandems or something.
