hcsvader 1 #3 February 6, 2009 Lol, my laptop dose not have a firewire port. Is that something that I could easily add to my laptop? Sorry all this stuff is totally foreign to me, Im very computer illiterate. Maybe its time to admit defeat and buy one of the Idiot proof Iboxes Edited to add: Is The sony DCR-PC101 compatable with Vista? Will I need to get the software from sony? dragon2 2 #4 February 6, 2009 You don't need any software from Sony and you can add a firewire port to your laptop providing it has either a PCMCIA cardbus slot or a Expresscard slot. However generally speaking, laptops that do not have firewire are not very well suited to videoediting as these usually are budget models (although not always). This means that editing and rendering will be slow, not a big deal if you're just playing around but better not be in a hurry ciel bleu, Saskia
