vincearnone 0 #1 March 2, 2009 I have seen a little activity on these forums about people jumping the 400 series cameras. I was wondering if anyone had any insight into this new olympus e420? It looks like the body with the pancake lens would be a perfect small and lightweight solution while still capturing some great pictures. I have also seen a little talk about having to modify or use a usb bite switch. any more info on this would be awesome. info here: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0803/08030501olympuse420.aspIndoor Skydiving Source - The Leading Indoor Skydiving Resource
BMFin 0 #2 March 2, 2009 The "pancake"lens is 25mm and on Olympus body it would equal 50mm on a Fullframe body. So it is FOV is quite narrow with that setup. Not exactly an allaround lens for freefall photography. If light weight is your priority, maby some kind of compact camera is what you are looking for ? velocityphoto 0 #3 March 2, 2009 For the price they want for it, you might has well buy a canon xsi with a kit lens. velocityphoto 0 #5 March 2, 2009 Smart guy . But wait for about 400 jumps or so before you decide to strap it to your helmet.
