andy2 0 #1 June 24, 2003 i recently acquired a used jumpsuit. Its great all except the bottom edge of the pants seem to want to "ride up". This is kinda annoying, plus Im worried that I will have fall rate issues, as I need the suit to ride FLAT and TIGHT against my legs. Would sewing a tight elastic strap that connects to each side of the hem of the bottom of the pants legs and goes under my shoe, be the solution to this problem? Im pretty sure I can do it myself, if I can just find some elastic material. Any suggestions? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
SLOfreefall 0 #2 June 24, 2003 Fabric stores carry ribbing, that would make a good stirrup (sp?). I made cuffs for my jumpsuit with it, and it fits tight enough to keep sleeves/legs from riding up.
councilman24 37 #3 June 24, 2003 They're riding up because your tightening your leg straps and pulling the crotch up tight. Only solution is to lengthen legs.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE
andy2 0 #4 June 24, 2003 yeah, but theyre riding up, making the legs baggy, wouldn't making a "stirrup" (good word!) fix this? I guess I am going to try to fiddle around with it this afternoon and see what I can come up with... --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... fundgh 0 #5 June 24, 2003 This is correct. When you tighten the leg staps, nothing can keep the cuffs down. Add a couple of inches of material with some elastic at the bottom, and you will be in action....FUN FOR ALL!
fundgh 0 #6 June 24, 2003 The key is the inseam length with your rig on and tight. It may seem baggy, but if the inseam does not go all the way to the bottom of your foot with the leg straps tight then the legs are probably too short. If you try to hold the cuffs down, when you tighten your leg straps, you will get some funky results....FUN FOR ALL!
andy2 0 #7 June 24, 2003 yeah but more material = more drag, and something I can't deal with at 125 pounds I need a solution that will keep the leg area flat against my skin.. maybe its not possible --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm... PhreeZone 20 #8 June 24, 2003 Umm... Booties are not flat against the skin. Fly your body, not the suit.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
fundgh 0 #9 June 24, 2003 huh? If you want flat against your skin, get a wetsuit. The jumpsuit helps, besides 125 lbs and a enough material to make the jumpsuit fit are not going to cause you problems. Make it fit, then fly it!...FUN FOR ALL!
andy2 0 #10 June 24, 2003
Umm... Booties are not flat against the skin.
The front part isnt, I know. But I thought ideally the back of the legs should lay against your skin, not bunch up? Am I right, or am I missing something...? --------------------------------------------- let my inspiration flow, in token rhyme suggesting rhythm...
