jf951 1 #1 March 31, 2009 hey so i have 2 cameras a canon 30d and a canon rebel XT. id love to use the 30d because of its speed but is it too much weight to mount on a helmet...will it get uncomfortable...will it be too big of a camera all around? so can i use it or should i stick to the XT? joeyJump more, Bitch less. velocityphoto 0 #2 March 31, 2009 When you get enough jumps to put a still on your head , you'll realize the xt is what you want on your head. The other camera is a great camera but to heavy. Take your time and learn from the local photographers 1st. BMFin 0 #3 March 31, 2009 30d is not too heavy. Both are ok. When you are ready to mount a camera, you will know this your self.

BMFin 0 #5 March 31, 2009 I jump a pc-120 + 400D + 10-22 (and 430EX sometimes) The difference in woight with 30d and 400D for example isnt that big. 30D: 700g 1.5lb 400D: 556g 1.2lb difference is about 150 grams or 0.3lb
mwabd1 0 #6 March 31, 2009 I jump a 20d with a sigma fixed 20mm on the front. The lens far outweighs the camera; I have jumped an XTI and it is definitly lighter but I have gotton used to the weight of my 20D so I still think it is a personal choice........I hereby reject your reality and instead choose to insert my own! velocityphoto 0 #7 April 1, 2009 If you had more jumps with a 30d you would see the difference. dragon2 2 #8 April 1, 2009 I have a nikon D80 and a nikon D200, ie a heavy and a less-heavy camera. I prefer the D200 for those days I do up to 4 or 5 jumps, when it gets up to 8 or 10 jumps I'll put my d80 back on my helmet. The difference is weight, built quality (weather proof-ness) and the D200 is simply a better camera, as is the D30, however my neck tells me to be careful And at first the D80 was quite heavy enough thank you, I worked up to the D200 ciel bleu, Saskia
lewmonst 0 #9 April 1, 2009 Man up and mount both of them side by side. You can probably fit a video camera in between too while your at it. Good luck!http://www.exitshot.com

YahooLV 0 #16 April 17, 2009 hmm, notices wasted space under the flat top! Im thinkin you could at LEAST get another flash.. for fill! maybe a 3-D bullet cam setup, too?? :Phttp://www.curtisglennphotography.com
Teigen 0 #17 April 17, 2009 The only still camera's i have are two MarkII N's. Superheavy bodies. Im getting the 5DMKII in a month or so, does anyone use that for jumping?
dragon2 2 #18 April 18, 2009 Of course, and it's a great camera, however not one I'd recommend for a beginner camera flyer as it is still quite heavy to jump with. One of the smaller EOS series (400D etc) is recommended (for your neck and back). ciel bleu, Saskia
