Demian 0 #1 June 25, 2003 OTHER than the classified section here in this site, Ebay, the rec.skydiving newsgroup, does anyone know of any other sites where I could find in-expensive skydiving gear? I've tried a few that I found in a Google search, but wasn't successful with any of them... Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous? skybytch 273 #2 June 25, 2003 Enclave.com also has skydiving related classifieds. What kind of budget do you have for gear? Have you tried the various gear dealers that also sell used equipment?
vt1977 0 #3 June 25, 2003 You could try looking on various gear stores websites - I know that both Square1 and Sunshine Factory have a "used gear" section and I'm sure many others do too. Happy hunting! Vicki
lippy 918 #4 June 25, 2003 I hooked up my first rig from www.actionair.com. They were really helpful and easy to deal with. I don't know too much about his operation, but try doing a search on 'Call Ralph'. He's another used dealer. Good luckI got nuthin
Demian 0 #5 June 25, 2003 My budget right now is pretty minimal. In fact, the only reason I can even go through my AFF training right now is because it was paid for as a birthday present from my best friend (how many people have a friend like THAT? ) When looking at Ebay or in here for jumpsuits, I look for the absolute lowest possible. I passed one up on Ebay for $27, and I'm kickign myself for it now, but am currently the high bidder on another for $30. I have a great job, so my budget will increase quite a bit in the future, but as for now, it's pretty low. Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous? PhreeZone 20 #6 June 25, 2003 If you are going to have some money in a few months it might be best to hold your money back and instead of buying gutter gear now, buy a better rig in a few months.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Demian 0 #7 June 25, 2003 Oh of course.... a full rig is actually the last thing on my list. That's something that I know I'm going to have to put some money into. The things I'm looking for online are jumpsuits, altimeters, helmets, etc... Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous?
FliegendeWolf 0 #8 June 25, 2003 The way I see it is if you're paying for rental gear, there's no sense putting wear and tear on your own things. Why not keep using your school's helmets, altimeters, and jumpsuits?A One that Isn't Cold is Scarcely a One at All
Demian 0 #9 June 25, 2003 Thats' only because I don't think the school's rentals include helmet, goggles, and altimeter. I'm SURE if they're having a slow day, and they have them available, it wouldn't be a problem, but I'd rather be safe than sorry... Remember when sex was safe, and skydiving was dangerous? FliegendeWolf 0 #12 June 26, 2003 I think we're slipping if it took 35 minutes for someone to produce a clicky link. Usually people clamor to be the one to make it clicky, so you end up with three or four "clicky" posts.
