PharmerPhil 0 #2 April 7, 2009 I'm guessing that's you holding the mic (looks like your rig and your locale). Is the carabiner on your harness there to hold the mic during exit/deployment?
DSE 5 #3 April 7, 2009 Quote Is the carabiner on your harness there to hold the mic during exit/deployment? Yes, it's there for deployment. I exited with the blimp in my hand. Tying it off to my chest strap is first choice, but when it's -20 at altitude and I'm bare-handed, I'd like options.
velocityphoto 0 #4 April 7, 2009 No gloves at -20 is insane . You can't feel your toggles! A friend will bail you out of jail , a REAL friend will be sitting next to you in the cell slapping your hand saying "DUDE THAT WAS AWSUM " ................ mnskydiver688 0 #5 April 7, 2009 Eh, just leave them stowed and then pop em right before you need to flare. You get good at harness turns. Sky Canyon Wingsuiters

As did someone who waited too long just a few months ago, too. A camera flyer at Elsinore.
Blink 1 #9 April 7, 2009 Is that a carabiner on your leg strap where the junction is with the lateral? If not, what is it, and what's it for?
howardwhite 6 #10 April 7, 2009 But you didn't tell us how the sound was. HW
DSE 5 #11 April 7, 2009 meh...it's there, you can hear something, but it's not like it's terribly useful. It's more of a stunt/gag thing than real world. She can't hear anything I'm saying anyway. So, everything she said was pre-staged. Blink, your answer is found about three posts up.

DSE 5 #13 April 7, 2009 Tandem was turning towards me, the later pix have better right light etc. Chris Warnock/Parachutist shot it. This the worst of the series, don't want to publically share the good ones (yet).

DSE 5 #15 April 7, 2009 yep, I have, and with a big mouse, it works reasonably well. I'd like to try a throat mic one of these days.

jimmytavino 16 #17 April 7, 2009 i guess i was wondering??/ where is the camera that YOU. are flying DSE??? is it hiding under the blimp???or were you without a camera??? i like the idea of multiple cameramen, each with specific assignments...what fun... jt
DSE 5 #18 April 7, 2009 I didn't have a camera, the angle I wanted to generate wouldn't have benefitted from me wearing one, and it would have also distracted from the Blimp, which is the product I'm wanting to focus on. When the magazine ad prints (different photo), I'll post it. I too, like multiple camera angles. We shot a piece for Turner that involved four camera angles and although it's a bit of a dance, it works out well if it's properly planned and dirt-dived.
