linestretch 0 #1 April 10, 2009 I'm looking for a web template for viewing pics on my website. I just switched to one that comes w/ lightroom but my issue is adding photos to the page seems to be a pain. Anyone have any ideas? And no, I don't wanna use another website to host my photos..I want it on my site. I'm not very webpage savy....so it's gotta be fairly simple. I'm not having luck searching google.my pics & stuff! PhreeZone 20 #4 April 10, 2009 http://gallery.menalto.com/ Web based photo gallery that lets you do all sorts of really cool things like rating photos, selling photos, and smooth uploading and resizing of photos. It requires a MySQL database and some versions of code installed on the server at any decent web host already has set up.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
frost 1 #5 April 10, 2009 Quotehttp://gallery.menalto.com/ It requires a MySQL database not the first version. http://codex.gallery2.org/G1-G2_Comparison scroll down to Feature Chart But even with DB, like you said, any decent hosting provider has that stuff, so installation of G2 is not too hard
svdree 0 #6 April 10, 2009 Take a look at http://jalbum.net/. Generates a complete album on your local machine, which you can then upload to your provider. Does not require any scripting or DB on the server side.
howardwhite 6 #7 April 11, 2009 ++ for JAlbum. You can select from among a bunch of pretty cool "skins" for your album, and can either upload the HTML to your own server or post stuff on Jalbum.net itself. And it's free (though they happily accept donations.) HW
linestretch 0 #8 April 11, 2009 wow, I just tried working w/ this and boy what a mistake. Granted...I really don't know what doing. I had to have godaddy upgrade my account to work w/ PHP and now some pages won't work. And I can't seem to follow along w/ the instructions. It says I need a storage area for the photo's but it won't let me choose one.my pics & stuff!
linestretch 0 #9 April 11, 2009 Does the JAlbum come up a/ their ads on the page?....can you customize it without any of their stuff on it? I'm looking for something clean .my pics & stuff!
ChangoLanzao 0 #10 April 12, 2009 XnView works great right out of the box ;-) It's free. CLICKY The scripts XnView uses to generate albums can also be customized if you feel like tinkering. Otherwise, the defaults work nicely. It doesn't require that you be a programmer or a database administrator in order to implement it either ;-)
