pekkakurtz 0 #1 April 23, 2009 I got a small/big Problem. Try to connect my Sony HDR-HC5 to my Computer with i.link-usb and can get only pictures out. How do you get videos to your computer with a usb port? Thanks for the help! http://pkurtz.kuvablogi.com
Superfletch 1 #2 April 23, 2009 You Don't. You have to use the i.Link (1394, firewire) port. the USB port is for only transferring the photos off the memory stick. skydiverton2 0 #3 April 24, 2009 buy a firewire to usb2 switchbox. HC5 can only transfer pictures via usbUsing your droque to gain stability is a bad habid. . . Also in case you jump a sport rig!!!
DSE 5 #4 April 24, 2009 Understand that unlike firewire, there is no guarantee that USB2 will correctly capture video without dropping frames or other issues. Firewire has a dedicated bus. USB2 shares.
pekkakurtz 0 #5 April 24, 2009 Thanks! So I think the only thing I have to do, is to buy a PCMCIA Firewire card for my Laptop, let`s see then how it will work out.

Yes, or a firewire Expresscard if you have a newer laptop - be sure to check that before you buy if you're not sure you have PCMCIA. PCMCIA is sorta credit-card shaped but a PC Expresscard comes in 2 flavors: either slim (half a creditcard lengthwise) or a creditcard minus a square (in this slot the slim one will fit too). ciel bleu, Saskia
