Sony HDR-HC5 video to computer with usb?

I got a small/big Problem.

Try to connect my Sony HDR-HC5 to my Computer with i.link-usb and can get only pictures out.

How do you get videos to your computer with a usb port?

You Don't.

You have to use the i.Link (1394, firewire) port.

the USB port is for only transferring the photos off the memory stick.

buy a firewire to usb2 switchbox.

HC5 can only transfer pictures via usb

Understand that unlike firewire, there is no guarantee that USB2 will correctly capture video without dropping frames or other issues.
Firewire has a dedicated bus. USB2 shares.

Thanks! So I think the only thing I have to do, is to buy a PCMCIA Firewire card for my Laptop, let`s see then how it will work out.

Yes, or a firewire Expresscard if you have a newer laptop - be sure to check that before you buy if you're not sure you have PCMCIA.
PCMCIA is sorta credit-card shaped but a PC Expresscard comes in 2 flavors: either slim (half a creditcard lengthwise) or a creditcard minus a square (in this slot the slim one will fit too).
