jmpnjeff 0 #1 May 11, 2009 has anybody who ordered a cookie box for the cx100 received it yet?
DSE 5 #2 May 12, 2009 I was told by Cookie just this morning that the first boxes are shipping this week. If I understood the story correctly, they decided to improve a few aspects of the box, and preferred a slight delay to offer better quality than to rush/meet the exact deadline and offer a lesser quality product. One thing I'll tell you for certain; after hanging with Cookie in a variety of situations, his primary concern is customer satisfaction. Jeremy is the same way. That's all these guys seem to talk about when in business mode; making people happy and keeping them that way.

Fast 0 #4 May 18, 2009 After seeing one of these in person, I am semi frustrated with it. The box is just much wider than it needs to be for side mounting. I understand that to make a box compatible with top mounting, the Hypeye has to be able to fit totally inside the box but for those of us mounting the camera on the side of our helmet it adds an extra 1/4" or more that is totally wasted space. Increasing the chance of riser strikes. I have one on order still, but just ugh. ~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. DSE 5 #5 May 18, 2009 You saw the Cookie box? It's not that wide. Certainly no more wide than some of the other boxes for SD camcorders. I've got a lot of pix of the Cookie Box, I'll post em' as soon as I can get to a fast connection.

I don't totally dislike it, still gonna get one. He says it doesn't fly any different and hasn't noticed riser strikes yet. I guess I get the decision to make it top or side, from a marketability standpoint. Just seems like the "top option" takes away from the "side option".~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. DSE 5 #7 May 18, 2009 You saw a Cookie Box? He just shipped em' a couple of days ago; I was there in his shop when the first 20 went out (couldn't convince Jeremy to let me bring one home). Maybe you saw the Bonehead or Tonfly?
indyz 1 #8 May 18, 2009 It was definitely a Cookie box, unless somebody out there made an exact copy of the one on the Cookie Composites website, and tricked Jeff into thinking he was talking to Cookie when he ordered it.
DSE 5 #9 May 18, 2009 I guess I'm confused/misinformed. I was at Cookie's factory in Australia on Thursday when the first 20 boxes were shipped out, so not sure how someone saw one on Friday. At least, Cookie and Jeremy told me they were the first batch shipped. I'd not yet seen a completed box at all. The one on their website is a rapid proto, not a real box. Perhaps Cookie or Jeremy can chime in.
indyz 1 #10 May 18, 2009 I'm not sure about the timelines or anything, but I played with it for a bit this weekend and it definitely has the bungee with the tab on it, which I haven't seen on any of the other boxes.
jmpnjeff 0 #11 May 22, 2009 finally got the cx cookie box last week not what i envisioned .just a bit big for the size of the cam.
DSE 5 #12 May 22, 2009 Quotejust a bit big for the size of the cam. A-you're not jumping with a HypEye? B-you're not using extended battery? C-both? With HypEye and extended battery/FP90, the CX100 won't move at all. Otherwise, you might need foam in the back and side.

Helped a local jumper with their top-mount CX100 Blackbox last week that was mounted to a ROK from Cookie. And it was a nice tight fit with the HypEye D Pro and lens.
