jonno 0 #1 May 23, 2009 i have a Sony HC1e and I'm wondering if its worth trading upto the Sony HC9? Would that be considered a trade up? I'm also wondering if I could get a mod on my Rawa helmet to accomodate a diffrent camera box other than the PC101 that it has on it at the moment? dragon2 2 #2 May 23, 2009 Dont buy the HC9 if you plan on freeflying/backflying with it, in that case definitely stick with the HC1 or get a HC5 ciel bleu, Saskia

Can i ask what the issues are with the HC9 and why you would still favour my HC1? I never mounted my HC1 as I used it for other applications and stuck with my 101 in my Rawa Helmet box. Can you recommend a good mount/box for the HC1. Its pretty heavy and clumsy which is another reason I havn't jumped it to date.

The HC9 has an optical stabilizer and will jitter, shake and generally make the video worse, even when it's not on. The HC1 has an electronic stabilizer that does a pretty good job at stabilizing the image (although a lot of people just leave it off.)
jonno 0 #8 May 24, 2009 Perhaps I'll look at mounting the HC1. Iv'e not looked at mounting options. Any tips? Its a clumsy camera with the wide angle lens on. I'm thinking top mount?
