retrofitting old risers with dive loops?

Would a master or senior rigger be able to sew on dive loops onto my used velcro mini ring risers? Thanks.

Heck, I do believe any rigger should be able to do that for you as long as he has the material and a sewing machine. It is not a major alteration to the H/C or canopy.

I had it done to my 13 tear old vector 2 for ten bucks. It took ten minutes, with the risers still on the rig ,

Had them sewn onto my trips as they didn't come with em - took all of 5 minutes (if that), and the canopy was still connected.

thanks for the input. Now I dont have to buy new risers! woohoo! (well I will eventually as they are VELCRO!)

Replacing Velcro on toggles and risers is routine maintenance that is easily done. So far I prefer velcro toggles to any of the velcroless versions. I especially don't like the extra line flailing around. Of course the manufacturers would love you to buy new risers just because the velcro is worn out.l

I was thinking more from a standpoint that velcro will eventually ruin the brake lines, no matter how careful you are stowing them...Is this correct?

I bet if you're careful, they will last until the canopy needs new lines anyway.

That was going to be part of my post. I've never had to change lower break lines on any of MY canopies due to velcro wear. I've changed them on many customers though. One of the secrets is to always stick the toggles to the risers when you land. If the velcro is always covered it cann't stick to anythink else. Microline isn't as susceptable anyway.

Of course don't let me stop you from buying new risers.
