JohnPolk 0 #1 September 14, 2009 hello all. trying to make my own remote switch for my new canon g10. tried friends switch for his 35mm canon and it doesn't work. was thinking of buying a canon remote switch, cutting it and splicing it to a tongue switch. my question is does anyone know what i should do with the ground wire in remote switch? there is a red wire and a white wire that i suppose i will hook to the two terminals of the switch, but then i am left with a ground wire that i'm not sure if it is important.. does anyone have any knowledge about this sort of stuff??? thanks

I just did mine with a Nikon MC-DC2 cable custom and it works great. Some real tiny wires in there though.
