sbhesq 0 #1 November 8, 2009 I am importing sd video into Vegas 8 but the sound is not coming with it. When I play the video outside of Vegas the sound is there. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve
DSE 5 #2 November 8, 2009 What is the source of the media? (where did it come from?) Right click the file in the timeline, and look at properties. What kind of audio is it?
flr169 0 #3 November 8, 2009 I'm not using vegas but instead movie studio and I have the same issue... I have video from my PC1000 uploaded on the pc and when I import it into movie studio I loose the audio also.....the problem is not all the audio thou...just the audio from our balloon jumps .... any other suggestions for this DSE MikeLife's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting - "fcuk me what a ride!" sbhesq 0 #4 November 9, 2009 Thank You DSE, The media was recorded on a cx-100 and it is mpeg-2. Hopefully that is helpful. When I right click on the timeline there is no mention of audio anywhere. Also, there is no audio track created when I drag the media onto the timeline. I have tried it with several clips all with the same result. DSE 5 #5 November 9, 2009 Do you have DVD Architect installed? DVDA is where the license for the AC3 decoder lies. Audio from MPEG2 is PCM/uncompressed, but is AC3 when you use the HD side of the camcorder. You MUST have DVDA installed to decode AC3
sbhesq 0 #6 November 9, 2009 I do have dvda installed. Do I need to run the video through that first to get the sound? Thanks for the help! You sure you don't want move up here to the Northeast so we can have the live version?
DSE 5 #7 November 9, 2009 If you have Architect installed, then I'd suggest re-setting Vegas. That simply makes no sense. AC3 and PCM are both native formats. Have you installed anything after Vegas, such as the KLite pack or anything else? No..not a prayer of being interested in moving to the northeast. Westcoast is bestcoast and I prefer jumping where it's warm with low humidity.
parachutist 2 #8 November 9, 2009 QuoteI do have dvda installed. Do I need to run the video through that first to get the sound? I remember a few months ago Bill_K had this issue with sound... he ended up uninstalling a Divx codec and updating Vegas to latest version (which reinstalls Vegas and possibly reinitializes some codecs?). he said the combo of these two actions did the trick.. both audio and vid worked for him after that.
