gilead1 0 #1 December 6, 2009 hello I have cx100 pal and my friend have cx100 NTSC, We wanted to exchange memory sticks but the camcorders did not recognized the sticks both and gave error message "memory stick disabled" Any idea wy its happend? thanks Gilead
DSE 5 #2 December 6, 2009 Yes, the header files are unique for each format. You need a computer to interface them when it's 50Hz/60Hz differences. File-based camcorders effectively require a computer for any sort of Xfer, unless it's Xferring Stick to Internal, and even then, you can't Xfer sticks from other format camcorders. gilead1 0 #3 December 6, 2009 O.K I suspected that this is the reason but it was only a guess, now it is clear thanks Gilead
ParaShoot 0 #4 December 7, 2009 The PAL and NTSC memory cards are identical. If you want to use a previous used PAL card in a NTSC camera you first have to format the card again in the camera. Of course for NTSC the other way around. Grtzz, Henny
DSE 5 #5 December 7, 2009 The CARDS are identical. The header files found on the cards are not. NTSC carries one subflag, and PAL carries another subflag. Additionally, the geoflag is set in PAL whereas NTSC has no flag attached (in the CX100) at all.
