lewmonst 0 #1 December 18, 2009 Sorry if this has been covered and I missed it. What's the best way to give raw footage, AVCHD (from cx100) to customers? Assuming they do not have a jump drive, hard drive or their own laptop to capture footage? Can you just copy the .mts files? Thanks!http://www.exitshot.com
DSE 5 #2 December 18, 2009 You can just copy the .mts files. If they're using a Mac, make sure you tell them to Log/Import or use a conversion tool (several of them now, but Voltaic is popular). If they're using a PC, most any newer version of any NLE will open them, even the el-cheapo NLE's. Burn a data DVD of the files.
lewmonst 0 #3 December 18, 2009 Perfect! Thanks DSE. That's what I did... just wondering if they were going to have trouble importing them. Good to know.http://www.exitshot.com
DSE 5 #4 December 18, 2009 one thing I failed to mention. If they're Mac users, you'll need to copy the entire folder/subfolder tree intact. If they're using a PC, just the AVCHD stream folder is necessary. Log and import will often error without the BDMV files
