Scoby 0 #1 July 4, 2003 I saw the Gunner at a gear shop and thought it looked cool. However, it was $45 more than a Mindwarp and didn't seem like there was any difference, other than a slight difference in style and finish. At $225, it was only $10 cheaper than the Boomerang. Any idea why they're charging so much for it?

Scoby 0 #3 July 4, 2003 It's odd that it isn't even on the Bonehead web site yet. For that matter, the new-style Mindwarp isn't on there either. I'd just buy the Mindwarp and pocket the difference. If I remember to bring my camera to the DZ next time I go, I'll take a pic.
CrazyIvan 0 #4 July 4, 2003 QuoteIt's odd that it isn't even on the Bonehead web site yet. I made a comment a while ago about that, Why Bonehead doesn't UPDATE their website?, is kinda retarded don't you think?__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you. skybytch 273 #5 July 5, 2003 QuoteWhy Bonehead doesn't UPDATE their website? Maybe cuz they're too busy making and selling helmets? I don't think they have a web person right now.

newshooter12 0 #7 July 7, 2003 I'll take a couple pictures in bit. The liner in it is really comfortable and the buckle is sort of like a seat belt in a car. I like it so far. matt

WFFC 1 #11 July 7, 2003 QuoteWhy Bonehead doesn't UPDATE their website? It's currently being redesigned. It looks very nice and also has said gear you speak of...
newshooter12 0 #12 July 7, 2003 here you go... the Audible pockets are soft. Only the section of the liner that has the pockets comes apart with velcro. the buckle seems really nice with an anti-slip/tensioner that keeps the strap tight and there is a soft strap keeper that looks like it will do well keeping it from flopping around or whacking me in the neck or face in freefall. matt
CrazyIvan 0 #13 July 7, 2003 Looks nice...is that a matte-finish?__________________________________________ Blue Skies and May the Force be with you.
fundgh 0 #14 July 7, 2003 Is it a skydiving helmet...The pics make it look like an old motorcycle helmet...Pretty cool though!...FUN FOR ALL!
newshooter12 0 #15 July 7, 2003 yep... shipped right from Bonehead Composites.the "standard" finish isn't quite what the mindwarps I've seen look like though. It's still got the carbon look, but it has a matte black finish that is semi transparent so you can still see the carbon weave under it if that makes sense. matt
AggieDave 6 #16 July 8, 2003 It looks almost like a rounded mindwarp, sort of like the mindwarp milleniums...pretty cool, but I'll have to see one of those buckles up close. Looks gay in the picture.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
SkyAnt 0 #17 July 8, 2003 Oooh! Nice with its own little seat belt and all. Couldn't you just buy a light motor bike helmet for that price then? newshooter12 0 #18 July 8, 2003 probably, but a friend bought me a Bone Bond for Christmas. so all I really had to pay was a couple bucks and shipping. matt
newshooter12 0 #19 July 8, 2003 I think the buckle is pretty quick, easy and from what it feels like so far secure. I'm not worried so much about how it looks. matt
SkyAnt 0 #20 July 8, 2003 Oh I'm not knocking it. I'm stuck with a Gath for the time being. Is that the same shell as the M3T or whatever? "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
newshooter12 0 #21 July 8, 2003 it's not quite the same shape as the mindwarps that I've seen in person and online, but I'm guessing they'd be pretty similar if you put them side-by-side. no offense taken here. I didn't know what it would look like except from what one of the guys at SQ1 said about it before I ordered it. matt
dgskydive 0 #22 July 9, 2003 I think it was me that you talked to about the Guner. It is a lot different in shape then the Mind Warp and I think they fit really nice compred to the mind warp as well. THe strap is really cool as well. The padding in the liner seems to be thicker as well and I think it is quieter in free fall then the mind warp.Dom
newshooter12 0 #23 July 10, 2003 you're right it does make things a lot quieter in the plane and in freefall. Just got a chance to check it out wed night for a few jumps. I was talking to a few people at the dropzone tonight, didn't have a mindwarp around to compare it to, but it looks like it covers more of the back of my head then the mindwarp would have... well. I'm happy so I'll wait a bit to see if the liners pack down a bit then bake it if needed. doesn't look like i'll have to for now though. Dominic - I think it was you too. So thanks for the advice and pointing me in a good direction. matt
miller 0 #24 July 10, 2003 It looks just like the buckle on the new Parasport Italia Z1 EVO, which I bought about a month ago. It's not bad. It's a buckle. It serves a purpose. And by "gay" do you mean like Fred Flinstone "we'll have a gay old time," or homosexual gay, because the buckle itself actually has a male end that's inserted into a female end, so I'd think that would be the opposite of homosexual gay. Please detect my attempt at witty sarcasm above. Mike
