polarbear 1 #1 February 5, 2010 I just picked up a copy of movie studio platinum 9. I like it, but I have two things going on giving me fits: 1) I'm trying to burn in widescreen, such that if I play the DVD on a 16:9 television it will fill the screen. I have all my setting set to widescreen, and when I preview the project it's in widescreen, but when I play it on a DVD player I get black bars on all four sides (it doesn't fill the screen). If I edit the same footage in premiere elements it doesn't do this. 2) If I have a video edited up and burn it, then realize I made a mistake (say I mispelled the student's name), I'll go in and try to change it. I'll make the change, re-render, the burn another copy. Even though the project shows the changes on my computer, the version that gets burned to teh DVD does not change. Any ideas how to fix this? A) In Vegas, go to FILE --> PROPERTIES and make sure your project templatet is set to DVD NTSC WIDESCREEN B)When rendering your project, choose FILE--> RENDER AS and choose SAVE AS TYPE: MAIN CONCEPT MPEG2, then choose template DVD ARCHITECT NTSC WIDESCREEN VIDEO STREAM C)Render an audio file for this project too: FILE--> RENDER AS, and choose SAVE AS TYPE: DOLBY DIGITAL AC-3 STUDIO, use default template D) Now open DVD Architect Studio. Go to FILE --> PROPERTIES and make sure Video Format is set to NTSC WIDESCREEN E) This one's not necessary, but it'll help you when previewing the DVD. In DVD Architect Studio, go to OPTIONS --> PREFERENCES --> PREVIEW tab and set Aspect Ratio to 16:9 Quote 2) If I have a video edited up and burn it, then realize I made a mistake (say I mispelled the student's name), I'll go in and try to change it. Re-render it to a new name... like if the first was John_Smith, make this John_Smith2. DVD Architect will get confused otherwise. I know.. you shouldn't need to, but it's much more reliable that way. I hope those ideas helped Chris
polarbear 1 #3 February 5, 2010 Thanks. The suggestions you have for the widescreen issue are exactly what I have been doing. For some reason it isn't working. "Holy s*** that was f***in' cold!"

Could you render a 5 second clip from your timeline and send it to my e-mail address?
