Dokeman 0 #1 February 5, 2010 I am wanting to recreate an effect in movie studio plat. 9. On my HC5, and many previous model cams, during playback if I go to the effects section, the is a flash effect. How do I do that in movie studio plat?

Create a crossfade between two clips on your timeline (drag one over the other & you'll see an X showing where they overlap) Then go to the Transitions tab. If transitions tab isn't showing, go to VIEW --> TRANSITIONS. Scroll down to the Flash transition and click on it... then choose one of the presets like Hard Flash... drag it into the crossfade area between your two clips (right onto the X), clsoe the Video FX window that appears, and you're done
DSE 5 #5 February 5, 2010 if the flash isn't desired over a crossfade, but rather over a piece of video, insert a 5 frame length piece of generated media on the track above the video, and give a slight fade in/out to it.
