davadikian 1 #1 February 18, 2010 So Ive read a lot and seen the comparisons but I have only heard talk of comparing r2 r4 r5 video settings. Considering r3 is at 60fps this would seem to make for smoother video. I have yet to test my (my wifes) GoPro in the sky only on the ground and this seems to be the case, it does seem smoother at the r3 setting. I was planning on r3 in the sky but I haven't heard any talk of r3 on the forums, maybe someone could enlighten me at to their experience... Thanks
imsparticus 0 #2 February 19, 2010 60fps (r1 and r3) is mainly for slowmo.
davadikian 1 #3 February 20, 2010 Yeah, I read the insert as well, I was wondering what if any peoples experiences were... 60fps is not just for slow motion, it provides smoother video overall. Just wondering if anyone had any pros or cons about USING one or the other actually in the sky. Or maybe any difference in editing... Oh well Im leaving for Belize tomorrow a.m. I guess its trial and error, again Thanks
PhreeZone 20 #4 February 20, 2010 HD footage is natively 60 FPS. The issue is you need o see if its interlaced or progressive. Progressive is ideal for smoother video.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
joelaclasse 0 #5 February 22, 2010 60 FPS is better when there is a lot of movement/shaking. I tried several settings while snowboarding and 60 fps is definitely better. The video is not smoother but it feels smoother. I have not tried to jump with it yet, but I think I'll keep the R3 setting.
