Skydivesg 7 #1 April 2, 2010 Could you guys tell me what all your settings are for the Canon G10? I've done the searches but not much there. Primarily tandem pictures.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
velocityphoto 0 #2 April 2, 2010 Try shutter priority other wise known as (TV) mode. Set it at day light around 250 to 500 will work nicely :) A friend will bail you out of jail , a REAL friend will be sitting next to you in the cell slapping your hand saying "DUDE THAT WAS AWSUM " ................ Skydivesg 7 #3 April 2, 2010 Do you change anything when there is a heavy overcast? ThanksBe the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
velocityphoto 0 #4 April 2, 2010 Just slow it down a little more, depending on how much light you are loosing. I have shot at 60 before without to much motion blur. Depending on how fast a subject is moving around or whatever. Exit shot will get some motion blur and deployment. But even on an overcast day you can shoot 160 and it should be just fine. I don't normally shot shutter priority anymore much though. Once you learn all your manual settings you'll get much nicer results. But that will come with experience later. Skydivesg 7 #6 April 6, 2010 I just got the camera yesterday and I don't have any idea what to use, other than what you guys on here have said. I haven't jumped it yet. I'm open for input.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
Scary 0 #7 April 6, 2010 We are just learning how to use them. I think using the manual focus setting reduces the delay. If anyone has more tips let us know.
skyjumpenfool 2 #8 April 6, 2010 I've been using the TV settings at 200 ISO under good lighting. Works fine! see attached. I know Scary was playing with the manual settings to see if he could get off more shots, but I've found I can click enough pics for my needs. Keep in mind these attached pics are reduced size in ordet to be uploaded. I think I sent you the originals. I've croped and enlarged these and they look great.Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
ChezzyMcFuzz 0 #9 April 8, 2010 not necessarily skydiving, have you guys had any problems in low light? ive noticed my g10 is pretty bad in LL, and have heard it from others too \,,,/(-_^)\,,,/ "For once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and will long to return"
Skydivesg 7 #10 April 8, 2010 It depends on what you mean by low light. If you mean 400 ISO or higher then yes, they are known to get noisy. I don't intend to use it in anything over 200 ISO. And then you always have the exposure compensation if needed.Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.
Skydivesg 7 #11 April 8, 2010 Kerry, have you jumped it using the manual focus? If so what's been the outcome? What other settings are you using with that?Be the canopy pilot you want that other guy to be.

metallica 0 #13 May 13, 2010 Hi, do you have a pic of your camera setup? I'm waiting delivery for my Optik and intend to mount a G10 on top. What do you use for triggering the shots? Thanks in advance Speed kills! So does everything else...
mfnren 2 #14 June 3, 2010 Are you guys using the wide angle available for the G10? Or just stock?
skyjumpenfool 2 #15 June 4, 2010 Stock lense is 28mm in wide angle. It works fine. Here's an example. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
skychock 0 #16 June 10, 2010 I would also like to know how you trigger the camera. I have one but need to know how to "press the button".
