Shoot 0 #1 April 5, 2010 I've ordered a Cookie blackbox for my CX116E, so the handstrap needed to be removed. Although it's pretty straight forward, here are some pictures of the proces. I added arrows to show which screws you need to remove. To seal the holes I used little pieces of 3mm neoprene. Hope this will help someone!
MattM 0 #2 April 5, 2010 I've been through about 10 cameras and I just cut it off and burn it with a lighter so it doesn't fray. Maybe I'm just lazy. Matt
camraflyr 0 #3 April 8, 2010 this is very similar to how the strap for the cx100 was removed. I had a tough time finding the screws under the battery, thanks for the info!Skydiving Camera Helmet Information

AndyMan 7 #7 June 2, 2010 In 10 years of skydiving, I've never had a camera last more than 2 or 3 years at most. The first time through, I meticulously removed the hand strap hoping to put it back on some day when I sold it. Now I know better, I know that camera will be spent in a single season at least. There's just no value in keeping the camera pristine. Cut the damn thing off! _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Cueb 0 #8 June 3, 2010 I just removed it myself the other day. It only takes like 10 minutes and you can remove the lid on hypeye connector at the same time, so I see no reason why not to do it neatly. :)
GaVak 0 #9 June 6, 2010 I used a hook-knife -- it was my first camera and helmet. I was impatient. ~GavLife doesn't need reasons, just participants. D.S.#

sky-pimp 0 #11 June 14, 2010 Good instructions i might give it a go,,, are sure that nothing will fall out and I'll be left with bits to go back that just won't fit anywhere !!!! that's what normally happens when i undo things .....YeHaaaaaaaaaaa
