Jacked 0 #1 June 21, 2010 I have noticed when we are being filmed with a go pro the camera flyer is close but in when viewed on the ground everyone seems so far away. Is there a way to zoom with an editor so the final cut is cropped to a larger view? Does that make any sense at all? Excuse my lack of knowledge in this field...The end result is directly connected to the effort applied
castle_bravo 0 #2 June 21, 2010 This is (most likely) due to the fact that goPro has a wide angle lens - up to 170deg. at 720p resolution. Yes, I believe a number of video editors (Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere) can "zoom in" the way you described.
kawisixer01 0 #3 June 21, 2010 Vegas allows it, but keep in mind when you zoom in you will lose a bit of image quality just like if you crop a picture.

You could crop a video image as you're suggesting, but the resulting image would be low quality. It's better to shoot good footage in the first place rather than try to clean up existing footage. The camera needs to be very close when you're filming with a wide angle GoPro. If you can reach out and touch the camera while it's filming you, then it's in the right position. In these photos the GoPro HD was on my hand: http://public.fotki.com/parachutist/doublestuff_hc_gopro_hd/ Chris
