chutingstar 1 #1 July 11, 2003 FYI...an e-mail sent out by AAD, which makes the Vigil automatic opener. QuoteVigil premature firing in Gap The French FS 4 and FS 8 have a contract with the Vigil manufacturer in order to assist with the testing and developing the Vigil. The French FS 4 team was equipped with pre-production (experimental) Vigils. These Vigils had different, more sensitive software than the beta and production models. One of the prototypes fired at approx. 450 meters. No harm was done. These units have immediately been recalled. After analysing the sensitivity of the software was corrected. The results of this analyse have been communicated to the French Parachute Federation. No single Vigil with this software has been sold. Only the French FS4 team was testing these. All beta units supplied by AAD nv/sa do have at least 50 live test jumps on it and are sold with a money-back guarantee. Again: it was an experimental version with modified software. Push 0 #3 July 11, 2003 This is exactly why it's in beta stage and not out to market yet. This is good product development. The Vigil folks are brave to make the beta public. Please don't let this ruin the image of the final product. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy.
