velocityphoto 0 #1 November 4, 2010 I have a mini dv tape i need to repair. I lost about a foot or so of the tape inside a camera. Is there some special scotch tape i can repair it with ? Zlew 0 #2 November 4, 2010 This would be one of the few times that Gaffers tape would not be a good choice for freefall video/still applications :)
velocityphoto 0 #3 November 4, 2010 Duck tape isn't an option either. I am searching for a local place to have it done since it looks like the tools to do it aren't real cheap either, and i'd prolly only use them one time anyways. DSE 5 #4 November 4, 2010 you'll likely not recover any of the data on the foot lost. Radio Shack sometimes has splicing blocks and splice tape. For DV, you'll use a butt splice, not a diagonal splice. Keep in mind, it's digital. Analog doesn't stripe data like digital does, so digital loss is much more catastrophic. Now...get rid of that ancient tape cam and join the modern era.
