PalleNygren 0 #1 November 12, 2010 I've got an Ipod touch and I would like to know if there is a replacement for Itunes, for PC, that is as capable but minus all the bloatware. As an absolute minimum I need to be able to add/remove music and playlists. Sofar I've tried Copy trans manager which proved too unstable, /Patrick
PhreeZone 20 #2 November 12, 2010 Try MediaMonkey. I used it for a while and found it a lot better then ITunes was.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
wildcard451 0 #3 November 12, 2010 Songbird used to be a very good media manager for my iPod. Have not used an ipod in quite a while though. I do not think it supports purchases.
mccordia 74 #4 November 12, 2010 I use CopyTrans, a free management program. I think there are tons of similar programs..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?
PalleNygren 0 #5 November 12, 2010 Sorry, I wasn't clear on what I am after. I would like to completely replace Itunes, so all the software that just builds on top of I tunes (like MediaMonkey and Copy trans manager) are not an option. What I'm trying to find is a software that is not as bloated as Itunes but can still communicate with my Ipod touch so synchronize songs and playlists (again, without relying on Itunes). /Patrik
PhreeZone 20 #6 November 12, 2010 MediaMonkey does not require Itunes to be installed. It is a replacement and I never bothered to install iTunes at all fora long long time. Most the other programs do not require Itunes either.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
PalleNygren 0 #7 November 13, 2010 If access to an Ipod is desired, MediaMonkey requires Itunes (which also goes for Copy trans manager). /Patrik
mccordia 74 #8 November 13, 2010 I think most (if not all) software required to sync without Itunes, builds on the drivers for communicating that are installed with Itunes. It doesnt load the actual program, but does always seem to need it as a backbone to communicate. Not sure there are options without it..JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? Cueb 0 #9 November 13, 2010 i use foobar2000 with iPod Manager plugin. Very simple and I like it. It works with iPhone so it should work with ipod touch too.
