Tandem student video

Hi.

Quick question, guessing I already know the answer but will any tandem instructor allow the student to wear a gopro helmet?

Quick answer: no.

Question though, why would you even want that? You cannot even get yourself in frame that way, and filming just (shaky) air makes no sense at all. If you want good quality video (and/or stills), get "real" video of your jump, you won't regret it.

The idea was for the exit 1. person view, but I'm guessing you have to have head high position when you exit anyway. Just wondering, thanks!

Hypothetically, I know of a situation in which 2 tandems students were allowed to jump with similar cameras taped to their wrist...like a student hand-cam

I never saw the footage though...since it was only hypothetical

I have seen a few jumps where the tandem customer has a handicam glove on. usually they are skydivers themselves, and in one case was the son of the DZO so too young to be a skydiver but had a handful of tandems...

Though I wouldnt wanna see a student with a camera, Ive seen tandemmasters do fucked up flaring, and half unstable freefalls in an effort to stuff a handcamera up the nose of a costumer, in an effort to make some extra cash. Some of those probably would be safer off if they DID give the camera to the student...

But I guess thats another discussion..

I agree, handcams are ruining the sport
