ReyNier 0 #1 December 13, 2010 Some pictures of a Live transmission system in combination with a GoProHero. It's made by a swiss genious for anothe swiss genious ("JETMAN" Yves Rossy). Cool, isn't it ?
BMFin 0 #2 December 13, 2010 Seems nice. How does the transmitter look like ? How long is the range ? What frequency does the system use ?
LouDiamond 1 #3 December 13, 2010 Here is a site that sells a "LIVE" kit. It's not perfect and given the distance and limitations, it might not work that well for skydiving, it might work in one place and not another is my guess. But at that price point, it's not too big of an investment to find out. I may pick one of these up for myself. Go Pro HD Live video"It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
jtval 0 #4 December 13, 2010 It's definitely a cool angle but man that mount is very ugly. There's gotta be a better way to mount it, no? I mean, snag points, limited head-turn radius(with risers extending from your shoulders)My photos My Videos
ReyNier 0 #5 December 14, 2010 the mail is actually about the transmission technology and not about the mount. If you jump with equipment like "Jetman" Yves Rossy, fashion and good looks are not really an issue. Apart from that the helmet he wears is equipped with 2 separate cut away systems. for left and right side. If you need to look cool'n groovy in the bar, just don't wear the mount there ;-)
ReyNier 0 #6 December 14, 2010 I'll try to find out details for you. They have already left the DZ so I'm not sure when I will have reply.

sdls 0 #8 December 14, 2010 There are few TX+RX sets meant primarily for FPV RC-planes that might do well with skydiving also. I already ordered one set from BEVRC (http://www.bevrc.com/bev-24g-500mw-plug-and-play-system-specially-designed-for-fpv-p-46.html) but haven't yet tested it; range should be something like 6 kilometers (236k inches) with extra antenna on RX side. Problem (here in Finland) are the radio regulations, you have to have radio amateur license to operate over 10mW appliances on 2.4Ghz.
robiwan 0 #9 February 12, 2011 looks like the transmitter is within the housing ? Must be a very little one, with short range, uh ? I'm really interested in this though, do you have any news or info about this ? thanks in advance !!
sdls 0 #10 February 12, 2011 Hi, they have tested same combination with about 8 km of range. Still have to test it by myself, but test results are promising.

robiwan 0 #12 February 15, 2011 wew, 8km ! okay, not that short as a range ^^ Anyone has any information or additional photos about how it has been done ? I really wish I could get some details... This kind of setting would be really useful for me... A very nice job ! I would love to see some embarqued footage too !
sdls 0 #13 February 15, 2011 I recommend you to read FPV Forums (http://www.rcgroups.com/video-piloting-fpv-rpv-469/), there's lots of information on this subject.
