repcool 2 #1 February 21, 2011 Howdy, I have +/-$1000 budget to buy a DSLR setup this week. It won't initially be used for skydiving but I would hope to use it in the future so it should be compatible with the sport...which I think means being able to use with a bite\blow switch. It must also use SD as opposed to another card format. - Use with switch cable - SD compatible - Around $1000 for body and starter lens I am confused as heck but I do know which one I am going to get if it doesn't become clear to me....I will keep it a secret for now to not influence the input. Thanks for your time. Simon
Skwrl 56 #2 February 21, 2011 Hi Simon, I'd recommend the Canon T2i - it fits your requirements and is a great first SLR. - JeffSkwrl Productions - Wingsuit Photography Northeast Bird School - Chief Logistics Guy and Video Dork

Zymurdoo 0 #4 February 21, 2011 +1 for the T2i although I bought mine thinking I would have the video option as a back up if my Sony took a dump. However, I do not believe I would use the video feature in freefall as it appears that you must manually focus in video mode. Still a nice camera that meets you requirements. I picked mine up for <$800 from 42nd street photo online. http://www.42photo.com/pd-productid-97504-k-canon_eos_rebel_digital_t2i_180_mp_digital_camera_w_18_55mm_is_lens.htmBlue Skies, Soft Docks and Happy Landings! sdctlc 0 #5 February 21, 2011 LOVE my T1i but the T2i is about the same as I paid for the T1i..... Never really played with the T2i but cant imagine it not being a fantastic option.
