Sigma 10mm (1:2.8) EX for Canon moisture problem

Since some weeks I'm jumping with a new Sigma 10mm (1:2.8) EX on my Canon 500D. When I leave the the air plane at 12.000ft is works fine, really nice shots! But when I'm at about 6000ft there is a small spot of moisture in the middle of the lens, on the inside.

- Is there anyone who knows this problem?
- Is there a possibility to fix this? (other then selling it again...)

I think that's probably moisture that is inside the camera, easy way to fix it for me was to put the cameras out in the sun at the beginning of the day, let it warm up.

Also, I assemble the lens to the camera when it's dry out, if you do it when its humid out, you're just asking for this.

I have the same problem with a video WA lens. Hope its okay to bump this thread as Im pretty certain its the same problem as discussed here.


I was hoping to use my old Sony VCL-0630X with my CX115. The overall image quality is fine for DVDs, but a few seconds after exit I get the same spot of moisture as shown in the picture above. I tried to tape a UV-filter to it which actually worked but I got vignetting instead. A wider thread filter shows up in the stillcamera. I also took the lens apart for a while and assembled it againg, and taped it but didnt work. Any ideas on this? I was hoping to avoid buying a new lens or drilling new holes in my helmet.

If the moisture is on the inside of the camera (between the lens and the sensor) then all of the UV filters in the world won't help. You need to make sure that INSIDE the camera is dry.
