Vegas 11?

Recommended Posts

except for the rendering speed, and for the more efficient AVC decoder (not AVCHD) it's pretty much the same tool.
Has some terrific optimizations and some sweet new tools (including some killer render engine stuff for the guys that have high end video display cards) and some new tools, but the basics of tandem vids won't benefit a lot from the new, higher end tools.
It is scary faster tho, with a higher end card (spendy).

Higher end workstation card or higher end consumer card?

I'm the backup editor that catches the overflow when we get really slammed. That means I'm way slower than the primary editor and when I'm not being an FJC Instructor, I spend most of my time sitting idle playing PC games.

Anything that boosts my output speed AND gives me an excuse to install a ultra-high end consumer vid card for my games would be A-OK with me!:ph34r:

DSE- Along those same lines: I use Home Studio 10 now, and have read a little bit about 11. The only thing that sounds like it might be worth it is the rendering differences. Have you seen the performance difference between Home Studio 10 and 11, and do you think it would be worth the $100 upgrade?

Are you seeing a big boost with V11 and that card? Because, a 260's only a half step above NVIDIA's entry level consumer card and our main NLE rig is actually running an even higher tier 460 right now. If there is a speed difference, then I'm salivating at the thought of what can be done with a higher end card like a 580 GTX.
