nice vid; good job on surviving.

I saw that other thread, I like how you have edited the video and at the end made some valid safety points. Your video shows how a little thing a lot of people never think about that can bite you in the ass when adding a camera, like unstowed brake lines. And unstowed line became in fashion a few years back. :S For camera flying

And then even though you had a plan of action and a cutaway you failed to use it, and that is what can happen (as you know first hand) to people under stress when the shit hits the fan. None of us are immune to this type of brain failure!

The "kid" who's photo I posted, that came from a face book post... I commented that for his safety I hoped he had a cutaway on that helmet seeing how there is now a big ass hook on top.

His reply was: all go pro are a snag hazard. To me I can think of a number of ways to minimize the mounting of a go pro to not only that helmet but other helmets as well, and while yes all cameras are a snag hazard, some are as safe as they can be made and others are just asking for it to kill you.

Sure there are a lot of people getting away with it and as DSE points out we are seeing a lot more of those set ups becoming "mainstream" these days. So again IMHO it's only a matter of time we see some deaths due to a snag on just such a set up as I posted.

Won't see that grappling hook shit on my head.:SB|
