Maxx 1 #1 March 23, 2012 Hey, Check out this commercial we did for a local German Beer... I produced this job with my company and brought in the skydiving idea Skydiving scene is shot on 7D - the other scenes are mixed Alexa/Red Epic. It's a teaser for a facebook competition where you can send in your most crazy ideas how to open a bottle.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MINJkbQAbug&hd=1 Enjoy! FrancoR 0 #2 March 23, 2012 Cool sehr schön gemacht, aber hättet ihr es nicht für Tegernseer machen können? :-) Translation: Cool very nicely done, but couldn't you have done that for Tegernseer Beer?If it does not cost anything you are the product. Maxx 1 #3 March 23, 2012 @FrancoR I would even do this for canadian beer if they pay for this!
Laszloimage 0 #4 March 23, 2012 Very nice commercial! Would it be difficult to jump with the Red Epic? It's smaller and lighter than the Red One right?
Maxx 1 #5 March 23, 2012 I think basically it should work with the Red Epic! Problem is that we didn't have the time and the budget to test things or build a custom configuration for that.. So we just used a well known setup for us.. @DSE: Did you use the epic for freefall? I think especially the new Red Epic M should be perfect for this.. tunnelfly 0 #6 March 23, 2012 Honestly, I enjoyed most of the commercial, except the skydiving part. It's implying skydivers are so not used to drinking beer, they need two guys and a bottle opener ??? That's just wrong Should have opened it on a GoPro... No.1 reason NOT to be an astronaut: ...You can't drink beer at zero gravity...
DSE 5 #7 March 23, 2012 I have only two jumps with the RED Epic on my head. I have several jumps with Joe Jennings where he is wearing his RED Epic. Norman Kent just finished a fairly large project using a RED Epic on his helmet too. Several guys usin' em' these days. I'd rather an Epic than a 7D if it's a paying gig, that's for sure
Maxx 1 #8 March 25, 2012 @DSE What settings and setup would be advisable to work with the Red Epic in Freefall? Would be good to know if we have something like that in the future again..
Maxx 1 #9 March 25, 2012 Have you noticed the Beer-Cam shot? I know it's only a few frames but look what we build to realise this..
Laszloimage 0 #10 March 25, 2012 ...I was wondering about that too. Crazy set up for sure. Don't try this at home! :):):)
Laszloimage 0 #11 March 25, 2012 At the mean time I had a conversation about high-end cameras with someone who owns a high-end production company in New York city. He sent me these links of a well budgeted project comparing cameras. Very valuable stuff to watch: http://www.zacuto.com/the-great-camera-shootout-2011/episode-one http://www.zacuto.com/the-great-camera-shootout-2011/episode-two
BMFin 0 #12 March 26, 2012 Nice commercial, though I was suprised how you chose to shoot the skydiving scene in such a poor light. Tight schedule?
Maxx 1 #13 March 26, 2012 Tight schedule and Germany in Winter... We just had small cloud window to jump, no time to wait for Blue Sky..
trunk 0 #14 March 27, 2012 I think Chris Burket is the man when it comes to setting them up in freefall. He does all the DIT stuff for Joe and Norman. Not a bad guy to hire if you are looking to shoot with the RED Epic in freefall.Trunk's Blog HYPOXIC's Instagram Like HYPOXIC
DSE 5 #15 March 27, 2012 Brooke is pretty impressive too. (MB38 here on DZ.com)
Maxx 1 #16 March 28, 2012 Thanks! So I hope next time we have a bigger budget to come over to the other side of the pond and work with those guys
