spencer 0 #1 April 25, 2012 When I watch the video using windows media player the picture quality is fine, but after rendering using vegas pro 10, the result is a grainy picture, and a loss of quality. using a gopro2 setting 720 x60, class 10 memort card. any ideas. thanks. DSE 5 #2 April 25, 2012 Grain may be less visible in media player due to smaller resolution of playback, smaller window, any number of issues. Grain can only be inserted during compression if improper compression settings are applied. More valuable information is : What are you rendering to? Resolution Bitrate Codec The kind of card isn't relevant, FWIW.
LiborJanicek 0 #3 April 26, 2012 try transcoding the GoPro footage to match your timeline settings or change your timeline setting to match the GoPro footage. u can use mpeg streamclip to transcode it http://www.squared5.com/
DSE 5 #4 April 26, 2012 Quotetry transcoding the GoPro footage to match your timeline settings or change your timeline setting to match the GoPro footage. u can use mpeg streamclip to transcode it http://www.squared5.com/ Transcoding is foolish when using Vegas or Premiere. Matching timeline settings won't affect a final render.
spencer 0 #5 April 28, 2012 thank you, I am rendering as Save as type - Main concept AVC/ACC (mp4) Under that is says Template - Default template. which under that says. Audio: 128 Kbps, 44,100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo, AAC Video: 25 fps, 720x576 Lower field first, YUV, 768 Kbps Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.457 hope this helps, as for codecs havent a clue
DSE 5 #6 April 28, 2012 768kpbs is the problem. You're taking an 18Mbps stream and cutting it down in size to almost nothing. Change out the bitrate/use a template with a higher bitrate. 6Mbps is a good average, 10Mbps is a good max
