Vodkafairy 0 #1 April 28, 2012 My Opteka Ninja Lens moves quite a bit when I'm filming in freefall as well as on the ground. When stationary the edge of the lens is barely visible. Between the lens and camera there's a stepring from Opteka, made of what I believe is aluminium. Do you have any advice of how to avoid this movement? At my local DZs I've been told that it can either be the mount, the stepring or the lens. My setup: - Sony cx115 camera - Opteka Ninja Lens with stepring (http://opteka.com/ninja.aspx) - Tonfly 3x topmounted helmet (http://tinyurl.com/7kesgmr) I've attached two images from a video, which is taken less than two seconds from each other. dragon2 2 #2 April 28, 2012 That's the image stabilisation you're seeing. Turn it off. Most likely this will solve your problem. skyjumpenfool 2 #3 April 28, 2012 My helmet is setup for different still cameras. When I'm using the Cannon G-10 with a Lensemate filter adapter, the filter adapter moves as you've explained. I simply wrapped a pack band around the filter cover where it threads to the camera base. Not only does is solve this problem, it also seals the joint from wind/moisture. I'll try to send you a pic. Vodkafairy 0 #4 April 29, 2012 I've tried turning off the image stabilization, but it doesn't help on the problem. I've also tried zooming in, which helps, but I just think that I have to zoom way to much. I've also tried wrapping a pack band around the filter, but it doesn't stabilize it much. Could it just be a result of a cheap lens? To me it seems as if one should just be able to simply buy and lens and then having a working setup? But then again, I'm just a newb.
