Tuna-Salad 0 #1 August 31, 2012 I recently hooked my CX-100 to my pc and noticed a "music" folder as part of the camera directory with DCIM AVCHD and others... Inside that folder were 31 edited and completed videos I have made over the course of a couple of years. The strange thing is.. I did not put these files on my camera (why would I) and even more puzzling is that the total of the files exceed the amount of space the camera has but, the camera shows as empty when turned on. Has anyone ever encountered this?Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
mccordia 74 #2 August 31, 2012 You probably have a Mac or have had the card/camera attached to one at some point? It creates a set of (invisable) folders with references to files/trash etc. And though its only empty reference files, they show up as actual files on a PC. Ive had 256mb usb sticks with 10GB files on em, but its mostly just PC/Mac communication not being completely the same.JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete? Tuna-Salad 0 #3 September 1, 2012 So when I dumped my video to someone on a mac is what caused the issue? If the camera is hooked up to another machine the same videos show up there .. so they are not temp files..Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. faulknerwn 38 #4 September 3, 2012 On a Mac if you move files to the trash but don't empty the trash while it's connected it doesn't actually delete the files but moves them to a different trash folder. I use the format function on my camera to make sure everything is actually deleted.
