kiwiscantfly 0 #1 February 11, 2013 Wondering if anyone has used the xshut for mounting still cameras. Also if anyone has installed them into a curved surface.
Ralph_W 0 #2 February 11, 2013 I use the X-Shut top mounted to hold the Nikon D200 for tandem stills, however mounted in a Tonfly camera helmet with a flat surface. Works perfect for hundreds of jumps so far. Some friends have an X-Shut mounted in a Paratec Freezr full face helmet. They use only GoPros mounted on it but from the footage I have seen and from their comments, they are happy with it. Zlew 0 #3 February 12, 2013 I am using one for my still mount on my FTP. The front plate is almost flat, but has a slight curve. I have it flush mounted (with the integration kit). Only jumped it maybe 20 jumps with the setup, but so far so good. http://www.flickr.com/photos/zlew/8431039335/in/set-72157632651673165
Ralph_W 0 #4 February 12, 2013 Post your question in the German forum (Stammtisch) here at DZ.com. No problem if you do it in English. As the X-shut is made in Germany, it is widely spread there and you should get some first hand feedback. RalphSilence is golden. www.bt-ag.ch
holie 0 #5 February 13, 2013 give it a try ;-) http://x-shut.com http://x-shut.com/index.php?menuid=21&reporeid=39# Due to this, a platform on the upper side of the helmet is not necessary. The „balance washer Basis“ is between the helmet and the „Basis“. Due to this, the „Basis“ can exactly be adjusted to the desired angle when mounted.
