A few mirrorless models from Samsung have a hard wire remote option

I can make a switch which connects to the camera's USB port, or I can make an adapter for your existing 2.5mm mouth/bite/tongue switch. I can also make a cable for a blow switch

I can make it with a lot smaller profile right angle plug though...

I really like the looks of the 1000. Can get it with just the kit lens for 320 bucks.... mirror-less form factor with APS-C sensor. 8 frames a second and 20 megapixel? Sounds worth a shot.

how would it compare top a cannon SL1 in image quality for skydiving?

I haven't jumped either of these specifically, but I jump a mirrorless 4/3rds camera now, and can't see a reason to strap my DSLR back on my head . I assume these would be in the same boat, or even better with the APSC sensor.
