TangBu 1 #1 September 30, 2013 Does anyone have experience with this camera for skydiving? How does it compare with say, a GoPro?...Blair.
DSE 5 #2 September 30, 2013 It's not a bad little camera. Not as rich as a gopro, not as smooth as a Sony AS, it's just "another POV camera in the 14mbps compression range" space. There is a point where either you're getting a decent POV camera such as a GoPro Replay Sony or you're buying one of the many plastic toys with lenses and a low bitrate Swann Ion Pioneer JVC Drift
realpet 0 #3 October 1, 2013 DSE or you're buying one of the many plastic toys with lenses and a low bitrate Drift Hi DSE, is this referring to the original Drift or all of them (Drift, Drift HD, Drift HD Ghost)? The reason I'm asking is that my 2nd camera is Drift HD and I have not seen a lot of difference compared to materials from 1st or 2nd gen GoPro's. - Petri

They didn't like my last two reviews, so have not tested the latest firmware update to the Ghost. The company has terrible tech support in the US anyway, so it's not been worth chasing down. In the production world, bitrate, custom settings, quality compression take the prize, and at the moment, it boils down to the three cameras I mentioned above.
