rebel t3 tandem stills

So i have a cookie atomic cx150 on left side and i just bought a rebel t3 to mount on top with a flat lock. I noticed when i began to mount it the battery/ sd door would not clear does anyone know if i could mount the camera on the s curve part of the flat lock?

I have my T3 mounted on the S curve and it works just fine. It even allows access to the battery and SD card.
