tem1948 0 #1 February 20, 2014 First, apologies, since this question has doubtless been asked and answered b4. I am a noobie, both to GoPro [I bought a GoPro Hero 3+ Black edition yesterday], and to this forum [I signed up 5 minutes ago]. Here is the question - which are the best video settings to use to film bigways from inside the formation. I will be using the video to critique my performance, to see what the other divers do, and to impress my wuffo friends.
ahaeuser 0 #2 February 20, 2014 I would recommend 1080 @ 60fps (wide) on the GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition. That camera also has a mode called "Superview" that will shoot 1080 @ 48fps. Superview is the same width as 1080 @ 60fps but it brings in more from the top and bottom of the sensor (a little distortion will be seen). Do some test shots at home and see if you like it. Superview is especially nice for freeflyers in my opinion. Superview uses the whole sensor but outputs a 16:9 video if that makes sense. I attached an image from Hypoxic's website to use as a reference.
