olee 0 #1 March 2, 2014 I am looking for a camcorder with superb image stabilization. I have heard great things about Sony's camcorders. Does anyone have experience with the HDR-CX330/B or higher end camcorders (reasonable dimensions)? Thanks.
Jabeln79 0 #2 March 2, 2014 Sony's Boss stabilization is the best I have ever seen. Sony Cx 430/580/760. The 430 and 760 have been discontinued but you might be able to find them.Blue Skies Joe "Knowledge is the antidote to fear." --- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Fullonmother 0 #3 April 3, 2014 There is alot you can also do in post Most platforms like Sony Vegas, Premier and Final Cut have stabilisation that can be applied to wobbly footage. It's pretty impressive stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jmqf2rORrDQ
DSE 5 #4 April 3, 2014 in-camera is _always_ preferable due to loss of resolution and recompression. All of the new Sony's do pretty well. on the super small front, I'm particularly impressed with the AS30 and AS100 cameras.
Zlew 0 #5 April 3, 2014 I have a 540 on the way. It may be a few weeks before I get it in the air, but I will report back. I'm very excited about the BOSS system...seems to be pretty awesome.

DSE 5 #7 April 3, 2014 NAB is delaying it, but yes...it's coming. Several cameras are vying for first place.

Scrumpot 1 #10 May 21, 2014 I/S is for no-talent ass-clowns! J/K. I think as has been said, at least for current generation, commonly available options, most of the Sony products seem to do a pretty decent job. coitus non circum - Moab Stone
DSE 5 #11 May 21, 2014 keep in mind that the newer generation of everything is lighter in weight, faster in freefall than previous generations. Weight does help with stabilization...and today, people aren't buying helmets specifically for cameras like they once did. Now they're just lickin' and stickin' a camera on there. I do think that bears consideration. Add in that people aren't flying with wings much these days, and they're seemingly getting going on camera much earlier... But even 5 years ago, stabilization was a good thing. Now, it's just a tad more necessary.
