NSD 0 #1 February 16, 2015 Hi everyone! I was filming this weekend with a go pro 3 mounted on my helmet. The free fall was recorded clearly but after deployment there was fogging, so bad that you can't really make out the canopy ride well. I was flying by a friend (while looking out for other traffic and ground position) and was excited to see if there were any nice canopy shots. On review there was just fogging or condensation. On landing the fogging had cleared up and there was no sign of what had caused it. Are there any quick fixes for this? (Go pro in skeleton case with skeleton back door)
riggerrob 643 #2 February 17, 2015 The atmosphere was only cool enough and moist enough to condense at opening altitude. This is easier to see in summertime when the base of cumulus clouds is near 3,000 feet above ground level.
jumpsalot-2 3 #3 February 18, 2015 It happens in the Winter. I figure it is from your body heat. I sewed a lens cleaner onto my jumpsuit cuff to wipe the lens after opening or before tandem lands ( if that is what your videoing ).Life is short ... jump often.
